Marissa Claims She Was Wrongfully Portrayed on the Show, and Everything She Did or Said to Edward Was for His Own Good or at His Request

Marissa Rubinetti is pushing back hard against the narrative viewers saw on the show, claiming she was wrongfully portrayed as bossy, controlling, and determined to run Edward’s life.

In her recent interview with SwoonDotCom, Marissa explained that the edit made her look like a woman who constantly shut Edward down, when in reality her intentions were rooted in wanting him to thrive in the United States. She said she wanted him to become the best version of himself, and guiding him was never about control, it was about helping him adjust to a new country and a new lifestyle. According to Marissa, the audience saw a distorted version of her personality, not the supportive partner she believes she actually was.

One of the biggest points Marissa clarified was the fitness storyline that made her look obsessive and overbearing. She stated that Edward asked her for help because he wanted to lose weight, get in shape, and improve his health. Marissa said she is very into fitness, so she naturally stepped in to help him make better choices, like avoiding chocolate for breakfast and starting the day with protein or a power walk. She insisted that none of this was her forcing him into a routine, it was her responding to his request and doing what she thought was best for him. Marissa emphasized that viewers misunderstood her intentions, and the show failed to highlight that Edward initiated the lifestyle changes she encouraged.

Marissa ended the interview by stressing that she was never trying to rule Edward’s life, she was trying to support the goals he told her he wanted. She believes the show focused too heavily on conflict and ignored the context behind her actions, which made her look harsher than she truly was. Her claim is simple, everything she did or said was either for Edward’s benefit or at his request, and the portrayal viewers saw was not an accurate reflection of their real dynamic.
